OUR SAFER SOCIETY MODEL

At Rainbo Initiative, our Safer Society Model is a comprehensive approach that focuses on delivering essential services, mobilizing communities, influencing policy and social change, sustaining long-term impact, and empowering survivor leadership. By combining these five key elements, we strive to create a society that is free from Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and where survivors of violence play a central role in shaping and leading the movement for change.

Deliver

We believe in providing essential services to survivors of GBV and communities affected by violence. Our dedicated team delivers a range of comprehensive support, including medical care, psychosocial counselling, providing information on the legal system, and other necessary resources. By ensuring survivors have access to high-quality services, we promote healing, empowerment, and the restoration of their rights.

Mobilize

Creating a safer society requires collective action. We mobilize communities by organizing awareness campaigns, workshops, and community engagement programmes. Through these initiatives, we educate communities, challenge harmful norms, and promote gender equality. By mobilizing community members, we empower them to actively participate in preventing GBV and fostering a culture of respect and non-violence.

Influence

To drive systemic change, we actively engage in advocacy and influence policy at local, national, and international levels. By leveraging evidence-based research, survivor voices, and strategic partnerships, we advocate for policy reforms, legal protections, and the implementation of comprehensive GBV prevention and response strategies. Our goal is to influence decision-makers, institutions, and society to prioritize the rights and safety of individuals.

Sustain

Sustaining the impact of our work is crucial for long-term change. We invest in building the capacity of our staff, partner organisations, and community leaders through training and skill development programmes. By strengthening the skills and knowledge of stakeholders, we ensure the continuity and effectiveness of GBV prevention and response efforts. Additionally, we work towards establishing sustainable funding mechanisms and partnerships to ensure the longevity of our programmes and services.

Empower Survivor Leadership

Survivors of GBV possess unique insights and experiences that are invaluable to our work. We prioritize survivor leadership by creating platforms and opportunities for survivors to take active roles in shaping and leading our programmes, advocacy efforts, and community initiatives. We provide training and support to survivors who wish to become advocates, peer mentors, or community leaders through our survivor solidarity movement. By empowering survivor leadership, we amplify their voices, promote healing and resilience, and challenge the systems that perpetuate violence.
